Governance and participation in public life
ACRO's Department of Governance and Political Participation works to strengthen egalitarian democracies in Latin American and Caribbean countries by creating an institutional and public environment conducive to achieving substantive equality in all dimensions of life. This work, in coordination with the UN Women offices in the region, includes advocacy and technical assistance to Member States to effectively establish and implement regulatory and policy frameworks to ensure equal conditions for participation in processes and institutions. policies, including gender equality mechanisms that take decision-making positions in all departments and levels of the State, and comprehensive measures to prevent, monitor, punish and eliminate violence against women in politics, to ensure the management and inclusive control of political financing.
